Fractional Controller

Overview

A financial services team specializing in outsourced CFO, controller, and accounting services is seeking a Fractional Controller to manage accounting functions for various clients. This role supports growing enterprises by providing access to experienced financial professionals without the need for full-time staff.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process and prepare accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, and reconciliations
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance processes
• Support accounting system implementation, optimization, and documentation of procedures

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of Controller-level experience
• Ability to manage month-end close, deadlines, and reporting timelines effectively
• Experience supporting organizations across multiple industries or complex business models
• Experience preparing or supporting financial statements, reconciliations, and audit requests
• Solid understanding of GAAP, including revenue recognition and accrual-based accounting
• Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP systems such as QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Xero, or similar
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA license or active progress toward certification preferred but not required
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. No visa sponsorship is available for this position.

Compensation & Benefits

• Anticipated base hourly rate: $70-$75
• Actual compensation will be based on factors including education, skill set, experience, certifications, and work location
