Overview

A global biotechnology organization is seeking a full-time remote Investment Analyst based in New York, US. The role supports the investment team in managing the buy-side investment pipeline, conducting due diligence, financial modeling, and preparing materials to inform investment decisions related to licensed healthcare assets and biotherapeutics.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and track the company’s buy-side investment pipeline, ensuring timely progression of active opportunities.
  • Maintain and update the project database, including opportunity status, counterparty records, and transaction history.
  • Build, maintain, and refine financial models in Excel for investment evaluation, including royalty, asset, or business valuations using NPV and rNPV methodologies.
  • Conduct data analysis to support investment forecasting and competitive benchmarking.
  • Assist in scientific and financial due diligence on licensing and equity investment opportunities, synthesizing technical, clinical, and financial information.
  • Prepare clear and concise due diligence findings presentations capturing key scientific, strategic, and financial considerations.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality presentation materials such as investment presentations, opportunity assessments, and deal summaries for internal and Board-level reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Technical, Legal, Finance, and Operations to support due diligence and transaction execution.
  • Monitor the competitive investment landscape, tracking deal activity, valuations, emerging technologies, and biotech financing trends.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling, document management, and logistical coordination to support efficient deal processes.
  • Take on additional analytical and project-based responsibilities as needed to support the investment function.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or a comparable analytical role within life sciences or healthcare; exceptional recent graduates with relevant internship experience will also be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, finance, business, or a quantitative discipline.
  • Background in life sciences (biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or related field) sufficient to understand drug development programs and investment opportunities.
  • Exposure to equity investment, venture capital, private equity, or asset valuation processes in biotechnology or life sciences is a strong asset.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including building and interpreting complex models.
  • Scientific literacy to critically evaluate drug development programs and engage with R&D teams during due diligence.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and data analysis capabilities to synthesize scientific, financial, and market information into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for producing due diligence summaries, investment memos, and presentations for senior audiences.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to keep multiple workstreams on track with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborative and proactive communicator comfortable coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity about biotechnology and life sciences investment.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office tools.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $71,000 - $109,000 USD per year (New York, NY)
