Overview
This role involves serving as a Lead Accountant responsible for conducting complex assignments related to maintaining ledger accounts and developing financial statements and reports.
Responsibilities
- Prepare complex financial reports using extensive knowledge of accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare and/or input general ledger entries following established procedures and various accounting systems.
- Research complex accounting treatments and policies utilizing available technology and resources.
- Investigate and resolve complex reconciling issues and discrepancies, implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Review financial reports for accuracy and ensure timely preparation.
- Prepare analyses and provide explanations for unusual or inconsistent trends.
- Coordinate audit activities, including preparing audit support, responding to audit requests, and collaborating with internal and external auditors.
- Suggest process improvement initiatives and offer solutions to enhance current processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA certification or advanced degree in accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.
- Effective communication skills within the team and across organizational boundaries to ensure alignment and successful completion of shared goals.
- Comfortable leading meetings and communicating issues and trends to senior management and other groups at an appropriate level of detail.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
