Overview
This role supports demand planning, inventory, pricing QA, budgeting, reforecasting, and executive reporting. Work involves moving between SKU-level forecasts and channel P&L to help ensure financial decisions are grounded in accurate, well-interpreted models.
The position reports to and works alongside the Associate Director of FP&A across the full scope of what the FP&A team owns.
Responsibilities
Reporting & Budgeting
- Own monthly All Hands reporting and underlying revenue/margin views by channel, product, and category—going beyond the standard package to highlight what is moving, what is not, and what leadership should be paying attention to
- Support quarterly board reporting and investor updates
- Run the monthly department budget cycle (actuals, recodes, variance reporting), setting a quality bar for submitted forecasts
- Lead annual budgeting and reforecasting between monthly cycles
Demand & Retail Forecasting
- Run monthly demand model actualization and produce variance commentary explaining the driver behind a miss (not just the size), feeding into the broader demand planning process
- Support partner-level retail and wholesale forecasting, including units-to-dollars translation, inventory flow, and promotional pricing/unit economics at the partner level
- Own forecasting for long-tail/mature SKUs and for smaller or emerging channels (including TikTok Shop and Canada)
- Partner with Operations to manage supplier capacity by preparing the monthly reorder pack, consolidating PO advancement requests, and factoring supplier constraints into the demand plan and reorder timing
Pricing & Promotional Analysis
- Own pricing QA across site, Amazon, and retail surfaces
- Build and maintain an assortment-and-pricing-by-partner tracking system
- Own standard post-mortem analysis for promotions, gift-with-purchase offers, and price tests, building institutional insight into customer response to discount depth and bundle structure
Requirements
- 4–7 years in FP&A, strategic finance, merchandise or inventory planning, or category management in a consumer, retail, or e-commerce business
- Strong ability to move between units and dollars: unit forecasts, landed cost, margin, and channel P&L, including how inventory moves through the business and how promotional pricing/unit economics affect partner-level results
- Self-sufficient BI skills—ideally SQL—able to find, pull, and validate data independently; should be able to specify needed data requirements when models do not support them and build the reporting outputs without relying on the data team
- Strong Excel and independent modeling ability, including building models from scratch that others can audit and defend
- Comfort working across departments, including Growth, Merchandising, Retail, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Creative; able to set and maintain standards with stakeholders who do not think in financial terms
- Familiarity with the GL, chart of accounts, financial statements, P&L structure, and budget-to-actuals reporting (fluency reading and working with them)
- Comfort with being visibly wrong: forecasting requires continuous revision; must reforecast honestly rather than defending prior numbers
Preferred Qualifications
- SKU-level planning experience, including assortment productivity, open-to-buy, receipt planning, or markdown and promotional planning
- Experience with inventory-constrained decision-making (supplier lead times, MOQs, capacity limits)
- Experience with an ERP (Fulfil, NetSuite, or similar) alongside a BI layer
