Overview

This role expands the Finance team’s capacity to deliver timely, reliable monthly reporting and decision support as the organization grows. Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Finance, you will own key elements of the monthly reporting cycle, strengthen forecasting and business analysis, and build processes that improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency. You will partner with cross-functional business leaders to improve financial data, automate reporting, and translate financial results into clear insights for leadership and the Board of Directors.

You will also lead and develop one direct report while supporting strategic initiatives, including profitability analysis, pricing, planning, and multi-entity reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly reporting cycle, including budget-to-actual and prior-period variance analysis, business-line results, and management commentary so leaders receive timely, decision-ready information
  • Partner with Operations and other business leaders to understand performance drivers, challenge assumptions, and translate financial results into actions
  • Build and maintain business unit profitability analyses, KPI dashboards, forecasts, scenario models, and business cases to inform decisions about pricing, investments, partnerships, services, and new markets
  • Design, document, and continuously improve reporting and planning processes; identify gaps and build scalable solutions that keep pace with organizational growth
  • Support annual budgeting, long-range planning, and in-year reforecasting by maintaining models, coordinating inputs from budget owners, and reconciling plans to actual performance
  • Collaborate with IT and Finance partners to strengthen data structures, accounting mapping, and automated data flows, including reporting through Power BI
  • Support multi-entity reporting and analysis, including intercompany considerations and consolidated views for leadership
  • Prepare clear financial analysis and presentation materials for the Senior Leadership Team, Board, Finance Committee, and other stakeholders in partnership with Finance leadership
  • Manage, coach, and develop analysts by setting priorities, reviewing work, strengthening capabilities, and maintaining high standards for accuracy, insight, and follow-through

Core Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or a related field; an MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
  • 5-8 years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, corporate development, equity research, or another setting requiring rigorous financial analysis and decision support, including at least 2 years leading or mentoring analysts
  • Ability to build and improve financial models, forecasts, reporting packages, and business cases using complex or imperfect data
  • Demonstrated ability to own monthly financial reporting, analyze budget-to-actual performance, identify variance drivers, and communicate business implications of financial results
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Accounting, IT, Operations, and business leaders to improve processes and translate financial information into actionable insight
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to create concise, audience-appropriate presentations in PowerPoint
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate analysis, forecasting, and management reporting, with a disciplined approach to validating figures and assumptions before distribution
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States for the employer, with or without sponsorship
  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, multi-entity reporting, or organizational restructuring involving multiple legal entities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring analysts, or demonstrated readiness to manage and develop a direct report
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a comparable ERP, particularly in a financial reporting environment
  • Experience developing and validating dashboards or automating reporting with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
  • Experience in a growing, evolving, mission-driven, nonprofit, or similarly fast-moving organization where processes and systems are still being built

Skills, Knowledge, & Experience

  • Builder mindset: create structure, improve workflows, and resolve manual or error-prone processes without waiting for a fully defined playbook
  • Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving skills, including the ability to determine what changed, why it changed, and what action the business should consider
  • Clear written, verbal, and presentation communication that turns detailed financial information into concise insights for Finance and non-Finance audiences
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented approach to managing recurring deadlines, ad hoc requests, and multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
  • Collaborative relationship-building with teammates and stakeholders, including gathering inputs, challenging assumptions, and solving cross-functional problems
  • Curiosity and adaptability when learning unfamiliar systems, navigating incomplete data, and working through changing business needs
  • Genuine commitment to thriving in a mission-based organization where culture and values are paramount, with diversity, equity, inclusion, collaboration, and innovation embedded in how work gets done
