Overview

This role serves as the strategic finance leader for the Power Distribution Services (PDS) business unit within the Electrical Engineering Systems & Services division. The Operations Finance Manager will oversee financial processes including planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting. The position focuses on driving operational excellence by strengthening financial controls, improving processes, and ensuring compliance with policies. This role partners with cross-functional leaders to influence business performance and shape financial direction.

Responsibilities

  • Support the division controller and director of operations in all financial aspects of the business.
  • Coordinate and manage all financial reporting and accounting within the business unit.
  • Communicate financial results to leadership and the broader division team to enable timely decision making.
  • Develop and manage month-end close, forecasting, annual profit plan, and strategic planning processes for the Projects business unit.
  • Promote financial stewardship by controlling costs and driving forecast accuracy.
  • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Drive accountability for results and define key performance metrics with business leaders.
  • Lead initiatives including CAPEX and working capital improvements to enhance productivity, operational excellence, continuous improvement, quality, and supply chain management.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to develop and implement action plans and strategies based on financial insights.
  • Create financial models to assess impacts of various operational scenarios.
  • Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics against targets.
  • Manage operational costs to achieve efficiency and cost reduction while maintaining quality.
  • Implement inventory control actions to maximize profitability and cash flow.
  • Build organizational capability through hiring, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Lead main financial processes for the site, including forecasting and profit planning.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work without immigration sponsorship; no support for CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, H-1B, O-1, E-3, TN status, or related visa processes will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business and/or CPA certification.
  • Progressive finance experience in industrial manufacturing or engineering services.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to build and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of financial and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Preference given to candidates residing near Pittsburgh, PA.

Skills

  • Knowledge of sourcing and manufacturing practices and performance measurement used by operations personnel.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and regulatory pronouncements (FASB, SEC, IRS, IASB).
  • Experience with internal controls environment including GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial and operational reports.
  • Proven experience in budget preparation and presentation.
  • Ability to drive and manage change, challenge the status quo, and champion innovative ideas.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary range: $130,000 - $175,000.
