Payments Manager

Overview

This role owns day-to-day payment operations, partnering with banking partners, payment providers, and internal teams to ensure payments are processed efficiently, reliably, and securely. You will also help improve payment infrastructure, solve complex operational challenges, and support international growth.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage daily payment operations across multiple currencies, payment methods, and banking partners.
• Monitor payment flows; investigate failed or delayed transactions; resolve operational issues.
• Manage relationships with banks, payment service providers, and payment processors to ensure strong operational performance.
• Drive improvements in payment success rates, processing times, transaction costs, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to launch new payment methods, integrations, and payment corridors.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve payment routing, and reduce operational risks.
• Work closely with Treasury, Reconciliation, Risk, and Compliance to resolve payment and settlement issues.
• Monitor payment KPIs, manage incidents, and continuously improve operational processes and controls.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in payments operations, banking, or payment processing, ideally within fintech or a payment service provider.
• Strong understanding of payment systems, including SWIFT, SEPA, ACH, and international payment rails.
• Experience working with banking partners, payment processors, and payment service providers.
• Solid knowledge of payment lifecycles, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and payment investigations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on, proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cross-border payments, multicurrency accounts, and payment orchestration.
• Knowledge of API-based payment integrations, payment routing, and automation.
• Familiarity with crypto payments, stablecoins, or fiat-to-crypto settlement.
• Experience with SQL, payment analytics, or reporting tools.
