Overview

This position involves management of a designated dairy loan portfolio, including analysis of new loan applications and other loan servicing requests. Responsibilities include developing credit packages, supporting credit decisions alongside the Relationship Manager, and serving as a secondary point of contact for customers. Recommendations are made based on the organization’s Loan Underwriting Standards, with credit actions approved/denied through delegated authority or recommended for approval through higher-level delegated authority.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Relationship Manager with gathering information needed to make appropriate credit decisions, including meeting with customers alongside the Relationship Manager and following up directly with customers for clarification or additional questions.
  • Develop credit packages and loan servicing actions.
  • Review and analyze presented credit information; determine whether additional investigation or more information is needed.
  • Request appraisal/field reports, obtain third-party verifications, obtain credit reports, and request lien searches as necessary.
  • Complete loan analysis, including financial statements, cash flows, loan analysis forms, trend sheets, written narratives, and creditworthiness/risk/risk-mitigation opinions; formulate projections using historical financial data, current budgets, and other relevant information.
  • Input required financial information and data into financial analysis, loan origination, and other loan processing systems.
  • Make approval recommendations on loan actions in line with the organization’s Loan Underwriting Standards and in compliance with regulatory requirements; independently recommend approvals on non-complex credits; participate in loan committee meetings as required.
  • Use analytical and statistical skills to evaluate loan requests and form an independent opinion of creditworthiness aligned with the organization’s credit philosophy and risk appetite.
  • Monitor assigned portfolio to identify potential servicing needs and ensure customers comply with loan terms and conditions.
  • Determine and review legal documentation; coordinate with credit and approval departments, as well as attorney’s and title companies, as needed for loan closings.
  • Support special projects and/or work groups requiring underwriting expertise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Dairy industry experience.
  • BA/BS degree with emphasis on agribusiness, business administration, or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical and statistical skills to evaluate loan requests and provide an independent opinion of creditworthiness aligned with the organization’s credit philosophy and risk appetite.
  • Demonstrated understanding of agricultural lending principles and practices, and association and Farm Credit System operating policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Participation and Syndication credits.
  • Knowledge of FCA regulations, association, and district policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong persuasive and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in PC use, including word-processing, e-mail, and electronic spreadsheet software.

Job Requirements (Physical/Work Conditions)

  • Ability to perform basic office tasks in a typical office setting.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a desk and computer for extended periods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey ideas and work well with a team.
  • Ability to talk and hear, sit, and use hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential.
  • Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required.
  • Work during established business hours, with weekend and/or evening work.
  • Some travel required.

Remote Work

Full-time remote: roles and job functions can be performed remotely while maintaining customer service and business goals. Employees may come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range

Minimum $71,138.70 – Max $123,959.18 Annual

  • This range reflects the national base pay range for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate.
  • Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications, including achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
  • Salary offered within the applicable range is one component of the total rewards package.
