Overview
A leading cloud infrastructure provider is seeking a Principal Finance Analyst, Product Lead for their Workload Health team within the cloud infrastructure finance division. This role involves financial planning and modeling for a specific product family in the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) portfolio. The position acts as a strategic advisor to leadership, focusing on optimizing business economics while supporting rapid scaling.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage financial analysis of key high-value customers across all IaaS products
- Develop scenario-based financial and business models to derive product-level insights for high-value (whale) customers
- Perform competitive analysis, pricing, and cost modeling for new product introductions (NPI)
- Link business strategy to financial reporting at various levels using KPIs and goal setting
- Influence investment decisions through detailed financial analysis
- Drive gross margin optimization by analyzing business, financial, and operational drivers
- Own financial planning, budgeting, and reporting activities aligned with corporate and business requirements
- Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to ensure appropriate capacity investments
- Collaborate closely with engineering leaders and teams as a trusted advisor
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures supporting operational and business objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of finance experience; MBA is a plus
- Knowledge of cloud technology and infrastructure and/or experience supporting engineering teams preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across disciplines (engineering, finance, supply chain, operations) and organizational levels
- Results-oriented with the ability to translate ideas into operational plans and execute
- Proven track record of using data insights to drive decision-making
- Strong partnering and influencing skills without direct authority
- Initiative-driven with a focus on achieving value-added results
- Ability to manage ambiguity and uncertainty in a fast-evolving business environment
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills with strong attention to detail
- Self-directed, proactive, able to multitask and take ownership of work
Compensation & Benefits
- US hiring range: $84,500 - $178,100 per year
