Overview

This role involves managing deliverables for accounting clients, ensuring client needs and objectives are met, and supporting the implementation of necessary changes. The position requires preplanning engagements based on client size and complexity, resolving client and team questions, and maintaining thorough project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage deliverables for accounting clients.
  • Meet regularly with staff and client employees to determine client needs and objectives.
  • Preplan engagements relative to client size and complexity to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and support procedures addressing identified risks and client needs.
  • Resolve questions from clients or team members.
  • Complete project documentation and ensure electronic files are secured and retained per policy.
  • Assist clients with digital transformation by introducing new technologies to improve efficiencies.
  • Review grant and vendor contracts to ensure proper billing and accounting.
  • Direct and monitor the work of assigned associates, ensuring accuracy and completeness of monthly reporting.
  • Plan and organize client assignments.
  • Review work performed by others for completeness and accuracy.
  • Provide input for associate performance appraisals and support their growth and development.
  • Adhere to internal controls and ensure policies are followed.
  • Facilitate budget-to-actual discussions.
  • Maintain knowledge of client policies, procedures, and business conditions.
  • Understand clients’ significant business risks and external factors affecting their business and industry.
  • Maintain client relationships and actively participate in marketing initiatives.
  • Provide thought leadership ideas to clients.
  • Participate in community organizations and networking events to grow professional network.
  • Assist in firm-wide projects.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and client expectations.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards and foster positive interactions among associates.
  • Design and assist in delivery of client presentations and firm-wide trainings.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Write clearly and concisely in proposals, correspondence, and technical memoranda.
  • Assist associates in setting personal and professional goals and resolving development issues.
  • Prepare and deliver substantive performance appraisals.
  • Support and promote mentoring culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Understanding of key ratios and statistics relevant to clients and their industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word for preparing correspondence and reports with proper formatting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for creating tables and exhibits using formulas and appropriate formats.
  • Proficient in relevant technology platforms used by the practice.
  • Ability to identify potential issues for further review.
  • Proactive in seeking development opportunities focusing on strengths and weaknesses.
