Remote Accountant

Overview

A well-established construction company serving eastern North Carolina since 1969 is seeking a full-time Remote Accountant. This role involves managing the financial health of the organization from a remote location, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing insights to support growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Conduct bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow reports
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant US tax regulations
• Perform detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Oversee project-based accounting and job costing to track profitability
• Ensure all accounting practices comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial standards, and US tax regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively in a remote environment
• Experience in the construction industry is highly advantageous

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive annual salary ranging from $65,000 to $95,000 USD, based on experience
