Remote Audit Manager | Non-Profit & Single Audit

Overview

An independently owned accounting and advisory firm headquartered in the Northeast is seeking an Audit Manager with extensive nonprofit (NFP) and Single Audit experience. This fully remote role requires 2–3 office visits per year, preferably for candidates located in the Northeast region.

Responsibilities

• Manage audit engagements from planning through completion
• Supervise and mentor audit teams
• Perform audits primarily focused on nonprofit organizations, including community nonprofits, larger nonprofits, quasi-government entities, schools, colleges, and employee benefit plans (EBPs)
• Ensure compliance with Single Audit and Uniform Guidance requirements
• Collaborate closely with a dedicated NFP Audit Principal specializing exclusively in nonprofit and Single Audit clients

Requirements

• Active CPA license required
• Minimum of 6 years of public accounting audit experience
• Deep, hands-on experience with Single Audit and Uniform Guidance; surface-level exposure is insufficient
• Significant experience auditing a variety of nonprofit entity types
• Background in regional or mid-size accounting firms preferred; Big 4 experience may not be the best fit
• Proven ability to manage audit engagements end-to-end and supervise audit teams
• Willingness to work fully remote with 2–3 annual office visits

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with a diverse nonprofit client base
• Strong technical knowledge of nonprofit accounting and auditing standards
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and clients

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary up to $175,000, commensurate with experience
• Performance bonus up to $20,000 based on firm and individual performance
