Remote Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

Overview

This opportunity is for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist within the accounting and finance solutions industry. The role offers a fully remote work arrangement and focuses on supporting accounts payable operations with an emphasis on vendor management, statement reconciliation, and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert in accounts payable operations, providing guidance to internal teams and vendors
• Manage the accounts payable inbox, responding promptly and professionally to vendor inquiries
• Research, review, and reconcile vendor statements; provide payment status updates and resolve discrepancies
• Support month-end and year-end close processes related to accounts payable, including preparing accruals and performing reconciliations
• Track and communicate key accounts payable metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable
• Proven expertise in accounts payable operations, including vendor management and statement reconciliation
• Experience managing vendor outreach and handling a shared accounts payable inbox
• Working knowledge of 1099 processes within accounts payable
• Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new processes and systems

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience using Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas
• Experience supporting internal and external audits by preparing accounts payable documentation and reports
• Background in identifying and implementing process improvements within accounts payable workflows
• Experience training or mentoring junior accounts payable staff is a plus
