Overview

This role supports Resource Management planning for advisory, assurance, and tax teams in the Northeast region. The organization uses a hybrid work model, with many professionals located within commuting distance of an office. This position is considered remote and does not require duties to be performed near an office location; however, remote employees may be asked to be present at an office with scheduled notice for client work, team meetings, or trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Continually monitor utilization levels against business plans for a minimum of 75 professionals for a designated service line or geography in Advisory, Assurance and Tax, highlighting adverse variance and potential issues for resolution.
  • Monitor the task list in the RM technology tool to approve resource requests, PTO, CPE, etc.
  • For assigned business units, understand specialization requirements, timing constraints, staffing continuity, and geographic considerations.
  • Maintain an understanding of employees’ preferences regarding skills, interests, and career development opportunities.
  • Apply common resource planning methodology to support planning and prioritization decisions by both cost and resource skills/interests.
  • Deliver monthly metrics on staffing trends and resource activities, improving visibility of unallocated resources and increasing cross-sharing staffing activity.
  • Ensure the labor workforce is efficiently planned according to operational requirements and resource management service level agreements.
  • Communicate effectively internally with team members and externally with vendors.
  • Maintain working knowledge of resource management platforms.
  • Use influence skills to encourage acceptance of planning proposals by promoting procedural best practice, using basic data/logic or a solid business case.
  • Support oversight of processes and technology.
  • Perform other responsibilities and projects as directed by the resource management center of expertise.

Requirements

  • 4-year undergrad degree in Business Management/Administration or 4-year undergrad degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Tax or Assurance resource management or workforce planning experience.
  • Ability to apply resource management procedures and policies and translate them to assigned business unit and business leader(s).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically strong Excel skills, including the ability to use pivot tables, macros, and summarize analytics via pivot charts.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and utilization metrics.
  • Strong organization and time management skills to complete work activities accurately and on time.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and analytical skills, including effective, tactful, and courteous communication using Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Strong oral presentation, listening, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to use creative problem-solving techniques to provide solutions.
  • Up to 10% Travel may be required as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering monthly staffing and utilization metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders on resource planning decisions.
