Overview
This role is remote eligible with a Pacific Standard Time zone preferred.
Compensation: $150,000–$160,000 + 10% bonus potential.
The Revenue Manager will own revenue accounting, billing integrity, commission and bonus management, and revenue reporting across wealth management, tax, insurance, and practice-services lines. The position requires strong expertise in ASC 606 and responsibility for keeping the quote-to-cash process accurate from Salesforce through NetSuite, including integration of acquired firms into revenue and compensation processes.
Responsibilities
- Revenue recognition (ASC 606): Own revenue recognition for all revenue streams, including advisory fees (for example, AUM-based), recurring retainer or subscription fees, and project-based tax and planning engagements, as well as commission revenue. Research and write technical memos on new offerings, pricing models, bundled services, and contract changes. Set and maintain the company’s revenue recognition policy.
- Commission and bonus management: Calculate, accrue, and manage commissions and bonuses for advisors, sales, and client-facing staff. Ensure payouts tie to recognized revenue and plan terms. Capitalize and amortize commission costs under ASC 340-40. Partner with HR, Payroll, and Sales leadership on plan design, dispute resolution, and reporting on compensation cost as a share of revenue.
- Month-end close: Run monthly and quarterly revenue close activities, including journal entries, deferred and unbilled revenue schedules, reconciliations, and flux analysis with clear explanations of what drove changes.
- Systems and data integrity: Own data flow and integrity between Salesforce, NetSuite, and connected billing/custodial platforms. Build exception reports and dashboards to flag mismatches before close.
- Billing oversight: Oversee fee calculation and invoicing accuracy, including advisory fee billing reviews, discounts and fee schedules, and collections reporting.
- Integrating acquisitions: Lead the revenue workstream for acquisitions, including diligence on target revenue quality, harmonizing revenue policies and compensation plans, and moving acquired client books, billing, and payout structures into Salesforce and NetSuite.
- Cross-sell reporting: Provide reporting on revenue per client and cross-service revenue so leadership can track client expansion across wealth, tax, and practice services.
- AI and automation: Identify and deploy AI tools and automation for contract review, reconciliations, commission calculations, variance commentary, forecasting, and reporting while maintaining human review and audit trails.
- Controls and audit: Design and document revenue and commission controls. Serve as the main contact for external auditors on revenue and support regulatory exams.
- Cross-functional partnership: Advise Sales, Advisors, Client Service, Legal, Compliance, and FP&A on revenue and systems impacts of new offerings, pricing, and deal terms before launch.
Requirements

- 5+ years of progressive revenue accounting or revenue operations experience in SaaS, professional or consulting services, or financial services.
- Expert-level ASC 606 knowledge: Proven ability to apply the five-step model to complex, multi-element arrangements. Experience writing technical accounting memos and defending positions with external auditors.
- Commission and bonus experience: 3+ years managing commission and bonus programs, including building calculation models, booking accruals, reconciling to payroll, and applying ASC 340-40 to capitalized contract costs.
- Salesforce and NetSuite: 5+ years hands-on experience, including reporting, data fixes, and supporting integrations. Experience with NetSuite ARM or Suite Billing is a plus.
- AI and automation: Hands-on use of AI tools (for example, Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot) and automation or integration platforms (for example, Boomi or Celigo) to improve finance workflows.
