Overview
A fully remote Senior Accountant position is available, responsible for managing the general ledger and month-end close processes. This role supports the financial reporting function by ensuring accurate books, timely close cycles, and reliable financial data to aid decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, promptly investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all accounts are substantiated and documented
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations
- Identify and implement improvements to the close process to reduce cycle time and increase accuracy
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure financial data is audit-ready and decision-ready at all times
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls around the close and reporting cycle
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CA preferred
- 3-5 years of accounting experience focused on general ledger and month-end close
- Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Strong proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation
- Strong attention to detail with ability to meet tight close deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, fast-paced startup environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license or progress toward professional certification
- Experience with AI tools or automated accounting workflows
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $90,000 – $120,000 USD annually
- Eligibility for equity compensation
