Senior Accountant - Government Contracting (Remote)

Overview

This role is for a Senior Accountant – Government Contracting (Remote) supporting project accounting for a large external client. Responsibilities include supporting the project close process through GL close, producing financial statements, and performing financial review and analysis.

The position supports a client with multiple entities and 100+ active projects. You will act as the accounting owner for assigned entities and work closely with nationwide Project Managers, a Financial Analyst, and an offshore accounting team.

Compensation: $105,000 - $110,000 / year + bonus

Location: Remote (based anywhere in the US) working CST or EST business hours.

Travel: Must be prepared to travel once per month to various client locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting for assigned entities within a multi-entity environment
• Perform project accounting support through GL close
• Support financial statement production
• Conduct financial review and analysis
• Collaborate with nationwide Project Managers, a Financial Analyst, and an offshore accounting team
• Support ongoing project accounting needs across 100+ active projects

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience with full-cycle GL accounting, project accounting, close, and analysis through financial statement production
• Prior experience with government contracting entity accounting (required), ideally in construction, IT, or manufacturing
• Experience working for companies with numerous multi-entities and complex organizations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and self-driven approach

Remote, based anywhere in the US; working CST or EST business hours. Requires monthly travel to various client locations as needed.
