Senior Accountant - Investments

Overview

This role is a remote position based in MN (Remote MN). The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with 8-hour day shifts. This is a full-time position with weekly hours of 40.00.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for timely and accurate reporting and analysis to support leadership on financial decisions. Responsibilities include transactional investment accounting and multi-faceted financial analysis, with an enterprise-wide perspective across subsidiaries.

Salary range: $27.50 - $44.00

Responsibilities

• Perform investment accounting processes for the organization’s investment portfolio, including:
  • Transaction recording
  • Account reconciliations
  • Income recognition
  • Financial reporting support
• Provide timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and organizational objectives.
• Maintain the general ledger system for assigned entities and support financial reporting.
• Identify, analyze, and report detailed financial issues appropriate to the level of the audience.
• Understand and apply relationships between all subsidiaries.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of financial systems and procedures relevant to the enterprise and its subsidiaries.
• Collaborate with accounting and cross-functional teams to help ensure the integrity of financial information.
• Identify opportunities for improvement within scope of responsibility, proactively address problems, and escalate issues to leadership as needed.
• Recommend process improvements and implementation of internal controls; modify existing tools, techniques, and processes with leadership approval.
• Serve as a project leader and subject matter expert as needed, staying current on emerging professional issues.
• Collaborate with assigned departments to stay current on projects and initiatives and keep leadership informed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other Business-related degree with an Accounting minor required (Accounting degree preferred).
• At least two years of related work experience (preferably in a healthcare environment).
• CPA, CMA, or other professional certification desirable but not required.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of the global accounting system and its applications.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
• Initiative and ability to maintain a high level of energy.
• Professional commitment to continuous learning and development.
