Overview
A legal support services provider is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting operations through accurate financial reporting, account reconciliations, revenue recognition, month-end close activities, and general ledger maintenance. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls while providing financial analysis and support to management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and record revenue journal entries in accordance with company policy and applicable accounting standards
- Analyze invoices and billing data to ensure accurate revenue recognition
- Collaborate with operations and billing teams to resolve revenue discrepancies
- Perform detailed expense reconciliations for corporate credit cards, employee reimbursements, prepaid expenses, and vendor accounts
- Develop and maintain Excel-based reports to analyze financial data and support month-end close and reporting processes
- Assist with external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
- Research cash application transactions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting procedures
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis as requested by management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA Candidate or CPA Eligible
- 5-8 years of corporate accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NetSuite ERP
- Experience with BILL
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: USD $65,000 - $85,000 per year
- Pay position within the range is based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, contractual agreements, and organizational needs
