Senior Accountant || REMOTE

Overview

This is a remote, full-time Senior Accountant role supporting a client organization that operates funeral homes and cemeteries across the Southeast and Midwest, with a home office in Savannah, Georgia. The position will work with the Controller to oversee accounting entries related to cemetery and funeral home locations and manage a portion of the accounting closing process.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting entries related to cemetery and funeral home locations in collaboration with the Controller
• Manage a portion of the accounting closing process
• Record daily cash deposits and disbursements; ensure accurate and timely posting of entries and resolve discrepancies within cash general ledger accounts
• Maintain additional general ledger accounts; prepare monthly accruals and recurring entries; work with team members to maintain subledgers
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare additional monthly and quarterly reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare weekly and monthly reporting to support management decision-making
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and addressing inquiries
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting efficiency and accuracy through process enhancements and use of accounting software and systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or accounting
• At least five (5) years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong, hands-on US GAAP experience (must have)
• Multi-entity accounting experience, including intercompany and consolidation (must have)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent written and spoken English; able to work in US hours

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: UP TO PHP100,000.00
