Overview
This role supports a fully remote, 12-week project (approximately 30 hours per week) for an organization developing and training artificial intelligence technologies.
The Senior Accounting Consultant (AI Trainer) will use real-world accounting expertise to evaluate AI-generated work and assess the accuracy of accounting and financial reporting outputs. You will identify technical errors, explain appropriate accounting treatments, and provide clear reasoning behind accounting decisions.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated accounting work for technical accuracy, consistency, and appropriate application of accounting principles.
- Identify technical accounting and financial reporting errors and explain why an accounting treatment is correct or incorrect.
- Determine and communicate the appropriate accounting treatment for various scenarios.
- Develop realistic accounting tasks and scenarios based on practical, day-to-day professional experience.
- Apply accounting knowledge across areas such as:
- Financial statements
- Month-end close
- Reconciliations
- GAAP/IFRS
- Audit
- Tax
- Controls
- Technical accounting
- Financial reporting
- Follow detailed project instructions while providing precise, well-reasoned written feedback.
Qualifications
- Current or recent hands-on professional experience in Accounting or a closely related field.
- Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and accounting processes.
- Ability to clearly explain accounting concepts, identify errors, and articulate appropriate treatments.
- Strong written communication, analytical reasoning, and attention to detail.
- Experience as one of the following (or similar):
- Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager
- Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant
- Technical Accountant
- SEC/Financial Reporting professional
- Auditor, Tax professional
Compensation & Benefits
- $125/hour for a 12-week project.
- Approximately 30 hours per week.
- Schedule flexibility: may include weekdays, evenings, nights, or weekends based on availability.
- Candidates are required to successfully complete paid skills assessments before beginning the project.

Fully remote. Candidates must be able to work from anywhere in the U.S.
