Overview

A growing mortgage lending organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to transform the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function from a reporting role into a strategic, forward-looking business partner. This role is responsible for managing forecasting, budgeting, KPI analysis, and financial reporting while driving improvements in accuracy, automation, and efficiency.

The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the VP of FP&A and collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, and Executive leadership teams.

Responsibilities

Forecasting & Planning

  • Own and manage the company’s forecasting and budgeting models
  • Maintain and enhance driver-based models and conduct scenario analysis
  • Improve forecast accuracy and proactively identify risks and opportunities
  • Translate business inputs into clear financial implications

Business Partnership

  • Collaborate directly with Sales, Operations, and other functional leaders
  • Provide proactive financial insights to support decision-making
  • Challenge assumptions and clearly communicate trade-offs, risks, and outcomes
  • Support resource planning, profitability analysis, and operational improvements

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce manual reporting and improve efficiency
  • Partner with data and systems teams to improve data accessibility and reliability (experience with Snowflake and BI tools preferred)
  • Assist in implementing and scaling FP&A systems and tools
  • Standardize reporting and forecasting processes

KPI & Performance Management

  • Develop and maintain key financial and operational KPIs
  • Monitor performance trends and highlight key drivers
  • Provide leadership with clear and consistent performance visibility

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deliverables end-to-end
  • Ensure accuracy, reconciliation, and timely delivery of all reports
  • Analyze financial results, identify trends, and communicate performance drivers
  • Provide variance analysis with actionable insights and recommendations

  • Demonstrate strong ownership and accountability for outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of financial analysis experience, with mortgage banking experience required
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Experience with data tools such as Snowflake and BI tools preferred
  • Familiarity with FP&A systems or planning tools is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting base salary range: $110,000 annually
  • Actual base pay dependent on experience, business needs, market demands, and other compensation components
  • Base pay range subject to change

Work Authorization

  • Must be able to verify identity and employment eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting
  • Ability to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination
  • Normal vision and hearing with or without correction
