Overview
This role supports Strategic Analytics (SA) within the Product organization, turning business metrics and product usage data into insights that inform strategy across Growth, Churn, and Profitability.
This Senior Analyst role is centered on Profitability, including complex COGS and gross margin analysis across hardware and software product lines. The position is problem-solving focused rather than reporting focused, with the opportunity to grow from individual contribution into team leadership responsibilities over time.

- Model cost-saving opportunities, build scenario analyses, and deliver recommendations on profitability levers to CPO, CTO, and finance leadership
- Convert ambiguous, high-stakes executive questions into structured analyses and clear, defensible points of view for executive conversations
- Partner with data engineering, finance, and product teams to understand cost drivers, surface insights, and influence roadmap and investment decisions
- Work through messy, complex data environments by establishing ground truth, building reliable datasets, and creating durable analytical frameworks
- Contribute to operational rigor for SA, including documentation, version control practices, and analytical best practices
- Operate with minimal supervision by owning priorities within your domain and driving work forward independently
Requirements (Must Haves)
- 7+ years of experience in analytics, strategic finance, or a closely related field, with demonstrated depth in financial/operational modeling
- Expert-level SQL, with the ability to write complex queries independently
- Deep understanding of unit economics, including gross margin, contribution margin, COGS structures, cost drivers, and scenario modeling
- Proven ability to independently frame and decompose ambiguous business problems, including structuring the question before answering
- Strong executive communication skills, including presenting analytical findings and a clear POV to VP or C-suite stakeholders
- High autonomy and self-sufficiency in fast-moving environments where context is incomplete and priorities shift
- Experience working in messy data environments, including establishing definitions, validating data quality, and building analytical foundations
Preferred Qualifications (Strong Nice-to-Haves)
- Experience with hardware + software combination products (IoT, fleet technology, consumer electronics, or similar) and how COGS differs from pure SaaS
- Python for analysis and automation
- Hands-on experience with a modern analytics stack (dbt, Airflow, or equivalent) and strong opinions on analytics team operations
- Background in strategic finance, FP&A, or management consulting with a strong technical layer
