- Analyze borrower and sponsor strength, collateral quality, cash flows, leverage, liquidity, repayment sources, and structural protections.
- Build and maintain transaction models incorporating borrowing-base mechanics, advance rates, eligibility criteria, concentration limits, coverage tests, covenants, and bank return metrics.
- Perform base, downside, and severe-downside stress tests to assess collateral performance, covenant headroom, and repayment capacity.
- Recommend transaction structures and risk mitigants consistent with the bank’s credit standards and risk appetite.
Credit Approval & Due Diligence
- Prepare clear, concise credit memoranda covering the borrower, transaction structure, collateral, financial analysis, key risks, mitigants, and recommendation.
- Present transactions to credit committee and respond to questions, conditions, and follow-up requests.
- Lead financial and collateral diligence, including review of portfolio data, historical performance, valuation practices, organizational documents, and material contracts.
- Validate source data and reconcile model assumptions and outputs to financial statements, collateral reports, and transaction documents.
Documentation & Execution
- Partner with internal and external counsel to review credit agreements, security documents, amendments, and closing deliverables.
- Confirm that approved economic terms, collateral protections, reporting requirements, and remedies are accurately reflected in documentation.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders, clients, and counsel to complete closing conditions and support timely funding.
Portfolio Management
- Monitor assigned relationships through covenant testing, borrowing-base reviews, collateral surveillance, risk-rating assessments, and periodic credit reviews.
- Evaluate amendments, waivers, extensions, and incremental financing requests, escalating material risks when appropriate.
- Track market and portfolio developments that may affect collateral values, liquidity, or repayment prospects.
- Maintain accurate credit files, models, approval records, and monitoring reports.
