Overview

This role involves managing comprehensive financial operations within the financial operations and accounting sector. The position supports multi-country payroll, contractor payments, and detailed financial planning and analysis. It ensures compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards across various currencies and jurisdictions, facilitating strategic financial decision-making and scalability through streamlined workflows and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records compliant with GAAP
  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing reports
  • Manage full-cycle payroll for US and international employees and contractors
  • Handle multi-currency transactions and reconciliations
  • Manage contractor and vendor invoicing, purchase orders, payment schedules, and contract documentation
  • Create, monitor, and analyze budgets across departments, clients, and projects
  • Provide financial forecasts and actionable insights to support strategic decisions
  • Track key performance indicators and financial metrics
  • Analyze revenue streams and support pricing decisions with cost and margin analysis
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare for audits
  • Implement internal controls and maintain documentation
  • Maintain compliance for international contractor agreements and payments
  • Advise leadership by translating financial data into business insights
  • Identify opportunities to optimize processes and maximize profitability
  • Streamline accounting workflows and implement finance technology tools
  • Standardize reporting and financial dashboards for real-time visibility

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance operations
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting
  • Experience managing payroll and contractor payments across multiple countries and currencies
  • Familiarity with agency financial models including retainers, project fees, utilization, and margin
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Rho, or equivalents
  • Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets for financial modeling and reporting
  • Experience with contractor payment platforms like Deel, Gusto, or Wise is a plus
  • Strong communication skills to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience working with distributed international teams

Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-time US-based position
  • Salary range: $3,000–$5,000 per month
