Senior Consultant, PATT

Overview

The organization is seeking an experienced payroll professional to join its Workday Platform team as a Workday Payroll Senior Consultant. This role is for candidates with a Workday Payroll consulting background or Workday Payroll functional knowledge, including exposure to implementing a payroll system.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the payroll subject matter expert and lead clients through their Workday system implementation and the project development lifecycle.
• As part of a deployment team, support the full delivery cycle, including:
  • Gather and understand customer payroll business requirements
  • Design and configure the Workday Payroll solution
  • Demonstrate configurations through development of prototype systems
  • Lead and manage parallel testing sessions
  • Complete knowledge transfer to customers
• Identify and analyze business needs and requirements, translating technical requirements into business-appropriate terminology.
• Create and develop functional designs and specifications, analyze gaps, and provide solutions.
• Work with customers to review, understand, and convert legacy payroll history into Workday.
• Assist the integration consulting team in configuring and testing integrations between Workday and other third-party or custom solutions.
• Advise clients on data integrity issues and leading business practices using Workday.
• Ensure customers understand and take advantage of Workday and the organization’s best practices.
• Innovate and recommend new approaches and tools to deploy Workday efficiently and effectively.
• Help ensure customers remain referenceable once in production.
• Work with clients to identify and resolve issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframe.
• Partner with project managers to ensure alignment across project plans and allocated budgets.
• Mentor new consultants and serve as a professional role model.
• Maintain Workday certifications and qualifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate work experience.
• Experience as a Workday Payroll functional lead.
• 4+ years of payroll processing or payroll implementation experience with Workday, Ellucian, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or similar applications.
• Ability to use rigorous logic to understand hidden problems and identify effective solutions.
• Ability to manage against timelines and goals.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with both technical and functional end-users.
• Active Workday Payroll certification.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 40%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous consulting experience within Higher Education (college/university).
• Experience in time tracking, absence, scheduling, compensation, benefits, or HCM.

Base Salary Ranges

• Senior Consultant: $100,000 - $150,000

Compensation varies based on skill set, experience, training, certifications, and overall business needs. This role may be eligible for participation in a variable bonus plan (role-specific), with additional details shared during the hiring process.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, a reasonable salary range is provided for each role. It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range, and final compensation decisions are based on individual qualifications and alignment to the role.

If roles may be leveled during the interview process, compensation will be aligned accordingly, and an updated salary range will be provided if the level differs from the original posting.
