Overview

The organization is seeking a Senior Director of Product Finance to serve as the strategic finance partner to the Product organization. This role sits at the intersection of finance and product and will help shape how the Product organization evaluates, prioritizes, and invests in new product lines as it scales.

Reporting to the SVP of Strategic Finance, and partnering closely with the CFO, Chief Product Officer, product leadership, and the Head of FP&A, you will be a key voice within the product organization. Responsibilities include developing business cases, building financial frameworks, and providing analytical support to enable confident product decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an embedded strategic finance partner to the Chief Product Officer and the product leadership team.
  • Own the financial evaluation of new product lines and launches from concept through post-launch, partnering with product leadership and strategic finance to build:
    • business cases
    • unit-economics models
    • pricing frameworks
    • revenue projections
  • Support financial planning for the Product organization, including:
    • annual plan
    • quarterly forecasting
    • long-range modeling
    • advising on investment trade-offs and resource allocation across the product portfolio
  • Lead scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, and market sizing to pressure-test assumptions and support capital allocation discussions.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and market analysis to inform product investment theses.
  • Partner with corporate development and strategic finance on M&A diligence or new market entries that intersect with the product roadmap.
  • Prepare and present financial narratives that clearly connect product strategy to financial clarity.
  • Develop financial performance dashboards and executive reporting for new and emerging product lines, including variance analysis with clear, actionable commentary for senior leadership.
  • Build and scale the Product Finance function, establishing repeatable financial processes and frameworks that make it faster and easier for product teams to access insights.

Requirements

  • 13+ years of progressive experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, or management consulting.
  • Demonstrated track record as an embedded finance business partner, influencing roadmap and investment decisions at the C-suite level.
  • Strong experience building financial models and business cases for new product launches (including 0→1 products) and new market entries; strong command of unit economics, revenue modeling, and scenario analysis.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial analysis into clear, actionable narratives for both financial and non-financial audiences, including executive presentations.
  • A “roll-up-your-sleeves” mindset—comfortable building models independently and presenting to the CFO or Chief Product Officer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in digital assets, payments, fintech, or tech.
