Overview
A software development organization focused on simplifying code and improving application reliability is seeking a Senior Finance Manager, GTM. The company provides an open source programming model aimed at enhancing developer productivity and delivering reliable development tools. This role is critical for revenue forecasting and financial modeling in a consumption-based, high-growth business.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end revenue forecasting for consumption-based products over short and long-term periods
- Build and maintain detailed bottoms-up forecasting models incorporating usage drivers and contract structures
- Align financial forecasts with statistical consumption models and predictive analytics in partnership with Data Science
- Continuously update forecasts based on actual data, usage trends, pipeline changes, and GTM performance
- Develop and maintain complex financial models using Excel and Google Sheets with expert proficiency
- Translate data science outputs into clear financial assumptions and executive-ready forecasts
- Conduct scenario, sensitivity, and stress analyses to inform pricing and GTM strategies
- Collaborate with Sales, Revenue Operations, and GTM leadership to connect pipeline, bookings, and revenue outcomes
- Evaluate forecast accuracy and improve modeling signals by working closely with Data Science
- Analyze revenue dynamics, net retention, expansion, and usage efficiency by segment and cohort
- Support forecasting for new GTM strategies, pricing changes, and product launches
- Lead headcount and tooling investment planning, translating growth plans into hiring and expense forecasts
- Design scalable forecasting processes combining data analytics with financial judgment
- Prepare materials for quarterly business reviews, executive updates, and board meetings focusing on revenue predictability and risks
- Partner with Accounting on revenue recognition and variance analysis related to usage-based billing
- Support annual planning, rolling forecasts, and budget updates with emphasis on revenue accuracy
- Identify and communicate risks and opportunities in the revenue model to leadership
Requirements
- 6-10 years of relevant experience, including early career training in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or revenue-focused FP&A/strategic finance at a high-growth technology company
- Direct experience forecasting consumption-based or usage-driven revenue models preferred
- Experience working in a hypergrowth environment with rapid customer growth and evolving GTM motions
- Expert-level skills in Excel and Google Sheets, capable of independently building complex financial models
- Strong knowledge of revenue forecasting mechanics, cohort analysis, ramp modeling, and expansion dynamics
- Ability to collaborate with Data Science and Analytics teams and translate model outputs into financial forecasts
- Skilled at evaluating model performance, diagnosing forecast errors, and iterating assumptions
- Highly iterative and action-oriented mindset
