Overview
A consulting firm specializing in corporate finance is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Turnaround & Restructuring practice in Boston, MA. This full-time role involves providing strategic, operational, and financial advice to private equity firms, management teams, boards of directors, investors, hedge funds, and other stakeholders, particularly for companies that are underperforming or undergoing transition.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day activities of the Corporate Finance - Turnaround & Restructuring client service teams
- Execute multiple tasks across consulting engagements, including financial modeling and client presentations
- Utilize business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to develop 13-week cash flow models, three-statement financial models, and pro-forma scenario models
- Collaborate with turnaround and restructuring experts, professionals from other firms, and client contacts to achieve engagement objectives
- Assist in preparing reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables
- Participate in marketing, client pitches, and product and practice development to support the growth of the consulting practice
- Maintain professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity in all work
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience, preferably in consulting or professional services
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, especially in Excel, including constructing and understanding three-statement financial models, cash flow models, and scenario analyses
- Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data
- Strong analytical skills to interpret qualitative and quantitative results and develop actionable insights and recommendations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with junior and senior team members, senior management, and other stakeholders
- Mature presence, empathy, intellectual curiosity, and ability to learn quickly
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands, and adapt quickly
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Familiarity with financial research tools such as Capital IQ or Bloomberg
- Willingness to travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- CFA, CPA, or equivalent certification
- Technical or GAAP accounting expertise
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 to $135,000 per year
