Overview
A financial services technology organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide critical financial insights that support strategic decision-making. This role involves financial modeling, revenue and expense analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting to help guide resourcing, compensation design, investment decisions, and organizational strategy.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to analyze financial and operational performance and deliver actionable insights.
- Translate complex financial data into executive-level recommendations, trade-offs, and scenario analyses.
- Support ad hoc analyses for strategic initiatives such as new programs, growth investments, and efficiency efforts.
- Lead key elements of the annual planning process and support ongoing short- and long-term forecasting cycles.
- Build and maintain financial models incorporating sensitivity, scenario, and "what-if" analyses.
- Establish and align forecasting assumptions between Finance and business partners.
- Produce and present monthly and quarterly reporting packages with variance analysis and executive commentary.
- Identify drivers behind revenue and expense performance, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
- Develop repeatable reporting views to improve leadership visibility into KPIs, operating metrics, and decision dashboards.
- Enhance revenue and expense reporting accuracy through trend analysis, variance decomposition, and business-driver modeling.
- Support subscription revenue analysis and recurring revenue performance tracking, including renewals and retention metrics.
- Collaborate with Accounting to support month-end close, review general ledger activity, and ensure data integrity.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manual effort and improve reporting quality and speed.
- Utilize and improve finance tools and data sources such as Workday Adaptive, Intacct, Salesforce, and BI visualization tools to increase automation and analytics maturity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in FP&A supporting functional business leaders.
- Proven expertise in variance analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting within deadline-driven environments.
- Strong initiative, attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple deliverables.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Workday Adaptive, Intacct, Salesforce.com, and BI visualization tools is a plus.
- Experience in technology and/or SaaS industries preferred.
- Subscription revenue analysis experience preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $100,000 – $120,000, based on experience, qualifications, skills, location, and internal equity.
