Overview
An industry-leading software company specializing in energy and sustainability management is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team. This role involves partnering with business leaders to transform financial data into actionable insights that influence budgeting, forecasting, and go-to-market performance. The position requires ownership of departmental budgeting cycles and a forward-thinking approach to integrating AI tools into financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasts for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage departmental budgeting cycles by collaborating with department leads to develop budgets and perform ongoing Budget vs. Actuals variance analysis, highlighting risks and opportunities to leadership.
- Develop and monitor Go-To-Market (GTM) reporting metrics such as Pipeline Generation, Sales Cycle Duration, and weekly Sales Forecast changes.
- Oversee commissions calculations, reporting, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy, timely payouts, and clear documentation for sales and finance teams.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and assess the financial viability of new projects or initiatives.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare presentations for department leads and executive leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to gather and interpret financial data, providing insights to improve operational efficiency.
- Support financial audits and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Utilize AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT to build automated workflows that streamline financial reporting, variance analysis, and data reconciliation, while staying updated on emerging AI applications in finance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- 2–5 years of relevant corporate finance experience.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools, including Excel and financial software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and succinctly to diverse audiences.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with comfort working cross-functionally.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to build workflows or automate analysis is strongly preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce.com is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $90,000 - $100,000, plus a 3% bonus.
