Overview
A Senior Financial Analyst position is available within a Real Estate Management Services business unit. This role acts as a strategic financial partner to the client finance team, focusing on financial management and analysis to support business growth and operational efficiency. The position involves delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to enhance client satisfaction and support performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead finance business partnership to support project management and capital planning/forecasting processes, providing financial insights and reporting
- Conduct detailed variance analysis comparing actual performance to budget and forecast, identifying trends and offering actionable insights for decision-making
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Oversee client funding processes, ensuring proper calculation, invoicing, and recognition of costs and related revenues/fees
- Collaborate with project management teams and clients to resolve financial inquiries, explain variances, and provide strategic financial guidance on operational matters
- Assist in developing and managing annual operating expense and capital plan budgets and rolling forecasts, aligning financial projections with business objectives
- Maintain and enhance financial models, reporting, analytics, and dashboards to support business leadership decision-making
- Implement best practices related to various ad hoc analyses while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and client specifications
- Provide high-level customer service to business leadership and stakeholders
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating financial performance and strategic recommendations
- Support corporate accounting and financial reporting as required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within real estate, property management, or related industries
- Strong proficiency in accounting principles (GAAP) and advanced Excel skills, including project accounting, financial modeling, pivot tables, and complex formulas
- Experience with financial reporting software and ERP systems; familiarity with real estate management platforms such as Oracle E1, Corrigo, Adaptive Work, Ingenious, Tririga, or similar systems
- Proficiency with PowerBI and Smartsheet
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing multiple client relationships and competing priorities
- Self-motivated with the ability to mentor junior finance team members
- Excellent financial, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate findings into actionable business insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting financial information to diverse audiences such as clients, senior management, and operational teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or Accounting with emphasis on real estate or corporate finance
- Experience in commercial real estate services, property management, or real estate investment management with knowledge of industry-specific financial practices
- Familiarity with real estate financial concepts including project accounting, allocation methodologies, capital expenditure, and project expense planning
- Experience with Power Query and BI analytic tools
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement initiatives and system implementations that enhance operational efficiency and client service delivery
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor junior team members in financial analysis and reporting best practices
