Overview

A leading technology services organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to act as a strategic business partner within their Services division. This role focuses on delivering forward-looking financial insights and partnering with operational leadership to drive profitability, improve decision-making, and support long-term planning.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary finance partner to services leadership, providing financial guidance that influences business decisions.
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights for operational stakeholders, including executives.
  • Support deal economics, margin analysis, and pricing decisions in collaboration with Sales and Services teams.
  • Build trusted relationships with business unit leaders to embed financial thinking into daily operations.
  • Own monthly and long-range forecasting for assigned business areas using driver-based assumptions.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, developing bottoms-up builds and managing approval cycles.
  • Conduct scenario and "what-if" analyses to support strategic decisions and planning.
  • Continuously improve financial models with dynamic inputs reflecting current business conditions.
  • Review and maintain headcount forecasts aligned with operational plans.
  • Prepare and publish monthly variance analyses against budget, forecast, and prior year with clear narratives.
  • Identify financial and operational performance trends and proactively communicate findings to leadership.
  • Design and maintain executive-ready presentations and ad hoc analyses for leadership reviews.
  • Track and report on KPIs and operational metrics, translating results into actionable feedback.
  • Own financial analytics for the business unit, designing and evolving dashboards and reporting infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards delivering real-time insights on revenue, margin, forecast accuracy, and performance.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate analysis, detect anomalies, and generate insights from complex data.
  • Automate recurring financial reports and manual processes to shift focus toward interpretation and strategic support.
  • Standardize KPI frameworks and financial data definitions to ensure consistency and integrity.
  • Serve as a thought leader on analytics best practices, modern tools, and AI's role in financial planning.
  • Collaborate with IT and data owners to improve data quality and expand analytical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or commercial finance.
  • Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
  • Hands-on experience building Power BI dashboards from scratch.
  • Working knowledge of AI-assisted tools such as CoPilot, Claude, ChatGPT, with eagerness to expand expertise.
  • Proven ability to build driver-based financial models and conduct scenario analyses.
  • Strong business partnering skills; comfortable presenting to and influencing operational leaders and executives.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear narratives for non-finance audiences.
  • High bias for action, strong ownership mindset, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive and curious, with a problem-solving approach to data or process gaps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or CFA, or an MBA.
  • Experience in technology, managed services, or professional services industries.
  • Familiarity with financial planning platforms like OneStream, Adaptive, or Hyperion.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as D365, SAP, Oracle, or Great Plains.
  • Proficiency in SQL or Power Query for data querying and transformation.
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and services margin economics.
  • Exposure to AI-driven forecasting tools or predictive analytics platforms.
