Overview
A technology platform serving dispensary operations and consumers in the cannabis industry is seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst. This role supports the financial operating rhythm by partnering with Finance, Accounting, and business leaders to build forecasts, evaluate performance, improve planning processes, and deliver insights that influence executive decision-making.
Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Own portions of the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial planning process.
- Develop financial models to improve visibility into company performance and inform future investment decisions.
- Analyze monthly results, identify business drivers, and communicate actionable insights to leadership.
- Collaborate closely with Accounting to ensure accurate reporting and alignment between actuals, forecasts, and KPIs.
Operational Excellence
- Improve and automate planning workflows using AI, modern financial tools, and scalable processes.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate manual reporting through automation and self-service analytics.
- Help evolve executive reporting and dashboards to enhance decision-making across the organization.
- Support preparation of board materials, leadership presentations, and strategic planning initiatives.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with R&D, G&A, and Operations teams to understand business performance and financial impact.
- Serve as a trusted finance partner capable of simplifying complex business questions into clear financial recommendations.
- Help establish consistent planning disciplines as the organization continues to scale.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or corporate finance.
- Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills, with experience building dynamic forecasting models.
- Experience in high-growth SaaS or technology environments preferred.
- Strong analytical curiosity and comfort working through ambiguity.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to automate analysis, improve workflows, and increase productivity.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analyses into executive-ready recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Compensation & Benefits
- Target starting salary range: $124,000 - $166,000, depending on level.
