Overview
This is a remote opportunity with locations in VA, MD, TN, NC, FL, SC, TX, WV, GA, AR, and KY.
The Senior Fixed Assets Accountant is part of the Shared Services organization, partnering with business units across the health system. The role oversees management and reporting of financial data related to Fixed Assets.
Responsibilities
- Record the cost of newly added fixed assets across multiple health system locations.
- Track existing assets.
- Calculate and record asset depreciation.
- Account for disposed fixed assets.
- Compile financial statements, review data, and ensure financial compliance related to fixed assets.
- Perform general ledger reviews related to fixed assets.
- Ensure fixed asset project data is correct and complete in the Strata system.
- Ensure fixed asset projects remain within the approved budget.
- Communicate with and follow up with project managers on project status.
- Ensure Construction in Progress is accurate.
- Place fixed assets into service with the date the asset was first used.
- Prepare audit schedules related to fixed assets for auditors, ensuring they balance to the General Ledger.
- Assist auditors during the company annual audit or other audits as assigned.
- Analyze transactions and identify appropriate accounting treatment.
- Ensure new fixed assets are tagged.
- Support team members with entering fixed asset requests into Strata.
- Manage processes and projects related to financial data reporting, including delegating work and reviewing other employees’ work.
- Provide onboarding, guidance, coaching, and training to other employees.
- Complete other special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years of work experience in the accounting field.
- Proficient with automated accounting systems, general ledger, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work with all levels of the organization and manage multiple projects at once.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Senior Accountants provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees.
- May require flexibility in work schedule to meet operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent.
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressively more responsible accounting experience in fixed assets accounting, general accounting, or finance.
- Two (2) years of public accounting experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects to completion.
- Previous experience in areas within fixed assets accounting, audit, and internal controls.
- Previous experience with Strata and Workday systems.

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range: $62,420.80 - $96,740.80
- Actual salary offers will be based on several key factors, including relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
