Overview
The Senior FP&A Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the development of organizational strategy by providing in-depth financial analysis and business insights. This position serves as a key advisor to the Director of Finance, CFO, and other senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Analysis & Performance Reporting
- Lead financial analysis across revenue, cost, profitability, cash flow, and balance sheet performance.
- Translate financial results into clear insights for leadership.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and recurring reporting packages such as monthly financial reviews, KPI scorecards, and service-line or payer-mix performance reports.
- Support month-end close by reviewing and explaining P&L results with accounting, ensuring proper accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare and manage the annual operating budget and rolling forecasts covering revenue, expenses, capital expenditures, and cash flow.
- Analyze and explain variances between actuals, budget, and forecast, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Support long-range planning and scenario/sensitivity modeling to inform strategic decisions.
Business Partnership & Reporting
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across the organization and with equity partners/investors.
- Serve as a primary analytical resource, delivering timely and informative reporting and ad hoc analysis.
- Advise senior leadership on financial implications of strategic and operational decisions, applying knowledge of commercial and industry drivers.
- Prepare materials and commentary for board meetings and equity partner/investor updates, clearly presenting financial performance and outlook.
Process & Systems Improvement
- Lead process and systems improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of key financial processes and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant finance experience, preferably with FP&A, healthcare finance, and/or private equity-backed organizations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present financial findings to senior leadership, board members, and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of business P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, including experience supporting month-end close processes.
- Ability to analyze complex financial and operational issues and present findings clearly.
- Knowledge of commercial and industry strategic drivers to advise senior management on financial implications.
- Experience managing projects from conceptualization through implementation across multiple reporting lines.
- Strong systems skills with experience leading or contributing to system implementations or process redesign.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively, follow instructions, and maintain professionalism.
- Commitment to excellent customer service, compliance with regulations, high ethical standards, and continuous professional improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- FP&A experience in a fast-paced, evolving, private equity-backed environment.
- Experience in multi-site health and wellness services industries.
- Experience building Power BI dashboards to drive actionable insights.
- M&A experience, particularly related to national healthcare platform growth, including acquisitions and integration of clinical and back-office/RCM processes and systems.
Compensation and Benefits
- Work Arrangement: Remote with optional work at Corporate HQ in Annapolis, MD. Quarterly travel to HQ may be required.
- Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000 per year.
- Paid Time Off: Up to 96 hours in the first year (pro-rated based on start date).
