Senior General Ledger Accountant

Overview

This role is for a Senior Accountant on the General Ledger team within the Finance and Accounting organization. You will own key parts of the accounting lifecycle for capitalized software, including Internal Use Software and Cloud Computing Arrangements, while supporting month-end/quarter-end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet integrity. The position requires partnership across Engineering, FP&A, IT, and Finance and includes both technical accounting and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support the accounting lifecycle for Internal Use Software (IUS) and Cloud Computing Arrangements (CCA), including:
  • Capitalization tracking
  • Project cost coordination
  • Roll forward reconciliation
  • Policy documentation
  • Journal entries in compliance with ASC 350-40
• Prepare and post journal entries (including accruals, expense allocations, and other adjusting entries) with appropriate supporting documentation, leveraging and improving automated processes where possible
• Maintain and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts in compliance with US GAAP; investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
• Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analyses comparing actual results to prior periods; partner with FP&A to explain significant P&L and balance sheet fluctuations
• Support the financial reporting cycle by preparing and assembling reporting packages, including management-level P&L summaries, variance analyses, and supporting schedules
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX controls, and company accounting policies through periodic control testing activities that validate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls
• Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and support external and internal audit activities, including preparing PBC schedules and coordinating evidence gathering
• Collaborate with Finance and IT to evaluate and implement AI-driven tools, automation solutions, and ERP improvements; provide functional accounting expertise and participate in testing and validation
• Identify opportunities to streamline general ledger processes, improve data quality, and increase automation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a public company environment
• Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, including hands-on experience in:
  • Accrual accounting
  • Cost allocations
  • The full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycle
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar enterprise platforms
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets and complex reconciliations
• Experience leveraging AI-powered tools and automation to accelerate day-to-day accounting tasks, with an interest in shaping how technology transforms accounting workflows
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet firm deadlines in a high-volume close environment, and clearly communicate accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA license or active CPA candidacy
• Experience at a public accounting firm supporting public companies
• Working knowledge of SOX 404 compliance and ASC 350-40 (Internal Use Software and CCA accounting)
• Ideally, experience supporting engineering or technical teams in a SaaS or technology environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range or On Target Earnings: $76,800.00 - $186,200.00
• Total Direct Compensation philosophy considers base salary, bonus, and equity value in addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed.
• Starting pay will be based on factors including qualifications and experience.
• Location-based compensation structure may result in a different range for candidates in other locations.
