Overview

A Strategic Finance team is seeking a Senior Strategic Finance Manager to lead the finance strategy for a growth partnerships portfolio and emerging consumer revenue scope. This role manages a ~$100M per year investment portfolio that drives topline Gross Transaction Value (GTV), membership growth, and user acquisition. The position involves building frameworks to measure impact and optimize return on investment (ROI).

This role collaborates closely with the Partnerships organization, Product, and Data Science teams. It is part of a small immediate team of 5 within a broader Strategic Finance organization of approximately 25. The position is suitable for candidates motivated by complex, cross-functional problems and influencing large-scale decisions.

The employer operates a flexible work model, encouraging candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area to collaborate in person, though remote candidates within the U.S. will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end finance support for a growth partnerships portfolio (~$100M/year), including creating ROI guardrails and performance frameworks tied to GTV, membership growth, and user acquisition.
  • Build and maintain driver-based forecasting and scenario models for consumer revenue and partner investments; translate insights into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Lead annual and quarterly planning, monthly forecasting and close routines, and KPI instrumentation in partnership with Partnerships, Product, Data Science, and Accounting teams.
  • Evaluate and structure new partnership opportunities, including due diligence, unit economics, incrementality, and payback analysis; prepare executive-ready materials to inform decisions.
  • Design and operationalize robust measurement frameworks with Data Science (e.g., attribution, experimentation, incrementality) to continuously optimize spend and outcomes.
  • Establish an operating cadence and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the portfolio, ensuring cross-functional alignment and accountability against targets and timelines.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in strategic finance, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting with a strong focus on financial modeling and decision support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including building driver-based and scenario models (e.g., three-statement, cohort/LTV, CAC/payback).
  • Proficiency in SQL to independently query and analyze large datasets.
  • Proven experience managing or advising on a portfolio of growth or partnership investments of $50M+ annually, with frameworks to track ROI and business impact.
  • Experience leading planning and monthly forecasting/close processes and building KPI dashboards for consumer, marketplace, or technology businesses.
  • Demonstrated ability to present findings and recommendations to senior executives and influence cross-functional stakeholders such as Partnerships, Product, and Data Science.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or CFA designation.
  • 2+ years of experience in growth, marketing, or partnerships finance within consumer technology, marketplace, or subscription businesses.
  • Hands-on experience with cohort analytics, CAC/LTV modeling, payback/ROI frameworks, and revenue attribution.
  • Familiarity with experimentation and incrementality methodologies; experience partnering closely with Data Science to interpret results.
  • Experience with financial planning systems (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau); advanced SQL or Python skills are a plus.
  • Background operating in high-growth, fast-paced environments and influencing product or go-to-market roadmaps through business cases.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Highly competitive compensation and benefits packages are provided, varying by permanent work location.
  • This role is remote with a base pay range dependent on the candidate's location within the United States.
  • The position is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants.

Base Pay Ranges by Location (USD):

  • California, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey: $208,000—$219,500
  • Washington: $199,000—$210,000
  • Oregon, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Hawaii: $191,000—$201,500
  • All other states: $174,000—$183,500
