Senior Tax Analyst - Property Tax and Sales & Use Tax

Overview

This role involves gathering and analyzing personal property tax data and supporting compliance activities across personal property tax, sales and use tax, business licenses, and related audit responses.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze personal property tax data for filings by EY.
• Review personal property tax returns; make timely tax payments; maintain a personal property tax calendar.
• Support management of personal property tax and sales and use tax audits by gathering data for information requests and performing associated research and analysis.
• Prepare required business licenses and ensure timely license payments; maintain a business license calendar.
• Respond to personal property tax and business license notices, including discussions with state and local government agencies.
• Monitor personal property tax and business license accounts to ensure compliance.
• Handle property tax and business license inquiries and other tax requests, including form preparation from internal business groups.
• Prepare tax resale and tax exemption certificates for AP suppliers; ensure certificates are updated and stored in Vertex Series O tax software.
• Review, analyze, and clear Ariba sales tax exceptions daily (variances between supplier invoice sales tax and purchase order expected sales tax).
• Respond timely to Accounts Payable supplier inquiries related to sales and use tax.
• Review monthly sales and use tax journal entries to accrue sales tax not collected by suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or an equivalent educational background.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in property tax and Sales & Use Tax.
• Experience supporting tax audits, compliance filings, tax research, and reporting activities preferred.
• Experience working in a multinational or shared services environment preferred.
