Sr. Accountant

Overview

A growing healthcare logistics organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of GAAP principles. The position involves hands-on accounting work in a fast-paced environment and requires collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly general ledger close processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Handle complex customer invoicing and manage accounts receivable collections for assigned customers
• Perform revenue recognition across multiple contract types
• Conduct reconciliations and customer allocations
• Analyze customer profitability
• Perform variance analyses on GL accounts and collaborate with other departments for research
• Support billing process reconciliation between front-end systems and vendor payments
• Prepare and maintain detailed balance sheet reconciliations and workpapers
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and close tasks completed by other team members
• Assist with annual external financial audits and periodic state and health plan audits
• Help maintain accounting policies and internal controls
• Support ad hoc accounting projects and cross-functional initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups
• Deep understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation
• Experience with Sage Intacct and Quicksight
• Experience with Medicare/Medicaid billing and reconciliation
• Strong data orientation and a growth mindset
