Sr Accountant- Financial Reporting Analyst

Overview

This role involves serving as a Senior Accountant specializing in Financial Reporting. The position requires advanced expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting standards to manage complex financial reporting, SEC filings, and technical accounting issues. The individual will independently lead high-impact workstreams, drive process improvements, utilize AI tools effectively, and collaborate cross-functionally to support compliance and reporting objectives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and own complex sections of SEC filings, including drafting disclosures and ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements
• Manage end-to-end financial reporting workstreams, coordinating timelines and validating inputs for accuracy and completeness
• Research and resolve complex technical accounting issues by analyzing guidance and recommending appropriate treatments
• Develop technical accounting memos articulating issues, analyses, and business impacts for leadership and audit review
• Review financial statements for accuracy and consistency, including balances, disclosures, and supporting documentation
• Design, document, and maintain SOX compliance and internal controls to ensure operational effectiveness
• Serve as a primary contact for auditors by coordinating requests and addressing technical questions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate timely and accurate information flow for reporting requirements
• Evaluate new accounting standards, assess impacts, and develop implementation plans
• Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements in reporting workflows and controls
• Analyze financial data and disclosures to identify trends, risks, and inconsistencies
• Maintain and enhance reporting documentation and standardize workpapers to ensure audit readiness
• Support quarterly and annual reporting cycles by managing priorities and meeting deadlines
• Advise internal stakeholders on accounting implications of business transactions and initiatives
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations by applying accounting standards and governance frameworks

Requirements

• 5 to 10+ years of experience in financial reporting, technical accounting, or public accounting with demonstrated SEC reporting expertise
• Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Experience preparing and reviewing SEC filings such as Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K
• Proficiency in leveraging automation and AI tools to improve financial processes while maintaining professional skepticism
• Strong technical accounting research and memo writing skills
• Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls frameworks
• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze complex financial data
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in SaaS or financial technology environments
• Background in Big 4 or public accounting
• Familiarity with financial reporting tools such as Workiva, NetSuite, Workday, and Shareworks
• Experience implementing new accounting standards or system enhancements
• Knowledge of stock-based compensation (ASC 718) and equity accounting

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $90,720 - $113,500
