Overview
This role supports technical accounting analysis and financial close activities for complex business groups. You will apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to prepare financial statement support, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist with internal and external audit documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical accounting analysis and research
- Collaborate with other technical accounting policy teams
- Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to support the production of financial statements and reports for complex groups
- Reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end close
- Prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare documentation to support external and internal audits
- Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis, investigate issues, and provide explanations and interpretations
- Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position
- Assist with or lead month-end and quarterly close processes for assigned businesses or groups
- Perform work independently on less structured, more complex issues
- Serve as a resource and mentor other staff
- Develop innovative approaches to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Provide leadership on projects and initiatives to improve the accounting and finance function
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional accounting experience
- Experience in public accounting
- Demonstrated expert-level understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements
- Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare
- Experience with Hyperion Essbase, PeopleSoft Financials, or Microsoft Access
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment
- Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
- Benefits may include a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (all benefits subject to eligibility requirements)

Location
- Remote flexibility: work remotely from anywhere within the U.S.
- For hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week
