Overview
A rapidly growing European scale-up specializing in custom-branded takeaway packaging is seeking a Senior Financial Controller. The organization operates across 14 countries, partnering with regional manufacturers to provide faster, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging solutions for the food and beverage industry. With plans to triple revenue over the next three years and increasing regulatory complexity, the team is building the financial infrastructure to support this growth.
Responsibilities
- Forward-Looking Planning and System Building (40%): Design and automate financial forecasts, budgets, scenario models, and liquidity tracking. Develop financial frameworks for stock-keeping and inventory management to support manufacturing complexity, focusing on minimizing manual tasks and improving departmental structure.
- Complex Compliance and Project Execution (25%): Lead major compliance initiatives, including designing and implementing an automated system for the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Establish extended producer responsibility (EPR) reporting, cost management structures, and material recyclability tracking to ensure full compliance.
- Strategic Advisory and Management Alignment (25%): Serve as the primary financial advisor to the CEO and CCO, independently translating complex financial data and subsidiary performance into clear, data-driven strategic decisions. Develop comprehensive reporting for the manufacturing subsidiary.
- Mentorship and Lateral Leadership (10%): Mentor the Finance Manager by providing guidance, evaluating improvement opportunities, and preparing them for a potential CFO role. Lead the finance department laterally, fostering development and suggesting structural improvements without micromanaging daily accounting operations.

- Background in manufacturing finance, including cost accounting, stock-keeping, and financial integration of subsidiaries. Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or food packaging is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor to C-level executives and mentor junior finance professionals.
