Overview

A global payments technology organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to ensure the integrity of financial data and support informed business decisions. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, driving timely month-end close processes, and influencing improvements in financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accounting records comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Prepare and review journal entries to support reliable financial results and strengthen reporting integrity.
  • Perform accurate general ledger reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues through detailed analysis.
  • Drive completion of key accounting activities during month-end close while maintaining quality, accuracy, and deadlines.
  • Build strong partnerships across departments to improve financial transparency and processes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of operational processes behind assigned accounts to improve financial outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute to audit readiness and special projects that strengthen controls and support business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3 to 4 years of accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of public accounting principles and financial reporting fundamentals.
  • Experience analyzing financial data, identifying issues, and applying critical thinking to develop solutions.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-focused approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Positive and adaptable mindset committed to continuous improvement and delivering excellent internal client experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle Financial software.
  • Experience in the credit card processing or bankcard industry.
  • 5 years of general ledger accounting experience.
