Staff Accountant

Overview

A full-time Staff Accountant position is available to manage multiple deadline-driven tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role offers flexibility with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for both office and remote work. The position is open to candidates in any location.

Salary: $33.65 - $39.90 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting, invoicing, accounts payable, and month-end reconciliations.
• Assist with year-end audits, tax return preparation, and tax reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for four companies.
• Maintain fixed assets, personal property tax returns, sales/use tax filings, general ledger, and records management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with accounting and payroll software such as Vantagepoint and ADP Workforce Now.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with researching GAAP, IRS, and CRA laws and regulations is a plus.
• Ability to interface effectively with staff at all levels in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, solid mathematics ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize, coordinate resources, and execute instructions from professional staff, managers, and executives.
• Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
• Willingness to travel and possession of a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with project accounting and tax reporting for multiple entities.
• Familiarity with payroll and accounting software systems.
