Staff Accountant

Overview

A financial holding company serving the small- and medium-sized business (SMB) market is seeking a Staff Accountant. The organization provides a broad range of business and financial solutions including banking, business lending, electronic payment processing, technology solutions, eCommerce, accounts receivable and inventory financing, insurance, web services, and payroll and benefits solutions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Assist with timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and analyze all balance sheet reconciliations
• Perform general ledger month-end close for multiple subsidiaries
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits and coordinate with internal and external auditors as needed
• Conduct weekly cash reporting and forecasting
• Prepare daily deposits and manage cash accounts
• Reconcile all accounts monthly and quarterly
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and issue intercompany chargebacks
• Review bank statements and perform monthly/quarterly bank reconciliations
• Research and resolve discrepancies

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NetSuite and wDesk
• Payroll accounting experience

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $55,000 - $75,000 per year
