Staff Accountant - Accounting and Financial Reporting

Overview

This Staff Accountant – Accounting and Financial Reporting role supports monthly and quarterly financial reporting and the accounting month-end close process. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements and related materials, journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting reports to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial information.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, management discussion and analysis, and investor reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packets for internal reporting.
• Prepare and post monthly standard and adjusting journal entries.
• Record financial transactions in the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets.
• Review assigned general ledger accounts for propriety and reasonableness; investigate questionable transactions.
• Form conclusions, make recommendations to Accounting Management, and prepare correcting journal entries as appropriate.
• Complete monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Identify, research, and correct account discrepancies.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting.
• Assist with annual financial audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to perform analyses using Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and other Excel capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
