Staff Accountant - Client Accounting Services

Overview

The organization is seeking two (2) Staff Accountants for fully remote Client Accounting Services. This role involves owning a book of clients and delivering real accounting responsibilities—not data-entry bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple clients using QuickBooks Online
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on an ongoing basis
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including P&L and balance sheets
• Record and review journal entries related to payroll, revenue, accruals, and adjustments
• Support month-end close with accuracy and consistency
• Assist with cleanup of prior-period books for new clients when needed
• Collaborate with managers and teammates to ensure work is completed on time
• Occasionally join onboarding or client calls for clarification or support

What Success Looks Like

• Clients’ books stay consistently clean and current
• Bank feeds are reviewed regularly rather than deferred until month-end
• Clients receive timely responses and clear communication
• You can manage clients with varying complexity
• You complete work steadily throughout the month instead of relying on end-of-month cramming

Requirements

• 2 or more years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a public accounting or outsourced accounting environment
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience
• Solid understanding of debits and credits and how financial statements work
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior cleanup experience (BIG PLUS)
