Overview
The Staff Accountant, Consolidations & Reporting position involves performing a variety of accounting, finance, and analytical functions as part of the organization's regular consolidation and reporting processes. This role collaborates with global accounting teams to gather and compile disclosure data and maintain supporting analyses and work-papers. The position reports to the Director and VP of Consolidations and Reporting.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the preparation of regular reporting packages from all subsidiaries.
- Participate in the consolidation process of reporting packages and review results for accuracy.
- Prepare consolidation entries, intercompany elimination entries, account reconciliations, and account analyses.
- Review disclosure information provided by subsidiaries for accuracy and prepare consolidated schedules.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies when identified.
- Prepare and maintain schedules supporting consolidated financial statement disclosures.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses as requested by management.
- Evaluate accounting processes to identify opportunities for streamlining and recommend solutions.
- Maintain supporting documentation to ensure compliance with internal control standards.
- Respond to requests from internal and external auditors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Word and Excel.
- Strong proactive problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
- Understanding of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Successful completion of background screening including employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS verification, credit and drug screening as applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Experience with Oracle ERP tools.
- Public accounting experience.
