Strategic Finance Associate

Overview

This role supports the financial strategy behind a high-growth consumer platform. You will work with the Strategic Finance Lead to analyze unit economics, maintain the core financial model, and translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.

You’ll partner cross-functionally with teams across Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Care, using SQL, AI tooling, dashboards, cohort analysis, and financial modeling to identify performance drivers and quantify opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the core financial model and unit economics, refreshing cohort and LTV views as new data ages in
• Work directly in the data using SQL and AI tooling
• Conduct ad-hoc, data-heavy analyses to size opportunities and pressure test experiments
• Investigate performance changes by working methodically from the funnel down to root cause
• Build dashboards and self-service analytics so teams can answer their own questions
• Partner across Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Care to convert open questions into quantified recommendations
• Support long-term corporate development initiatives, including M&A, capital raises, and investor relations

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, growth/private equity, or a high-impact role at a startup or technology company
• Fluency in cohort and waterfall analysis, ideally in a consumer, monthly retention context
• Proficiency in SQL, or the ability to learn quickly; enthusiasm for AI tools such as Claude
• Strong structured problem-solving skills, including the ability to frame ambiguous issues and work methodically toward root cause
• Clear written and verbal communication skills suited to a fully remote work environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in consumer internet, marketplace, subscription, on-demand, or gig economy businesses
• Comfort working beyond spreadsheets by combining financial analysis, SQL, dashboards, and AI-enabled workflows
